5 AI sales prompts for emails and social selling

Nurtured leads convert, as shown by DemandGen, which found that effective lead nurturing produces a 20% increase in sales and generates 50% more sales-ready leads at a 33% lower cost.

Email and social selling are the channels that do most of that nurturing, and AI is already embedded in how teams run them. HubSpot found that 42% of organizations already combine generative AI with their CRM to strengthen these communications, and 70% of salespeople using AI for outreach say it increases response rates.

But before you dive straight into using AI for sales outreach, you need some examples of how others use this tool. For the biggest impact, make sure you’re specific with your prompts, like these five examples we’ve created. To use them, simply copy, adapt the bracketed details, test, and share the ones that work with your team.

Prompts for multi-channel outreach

Prompt 1 — Turn a blog post into a LinkedIn series

“Act as a sales rep who’s summarizing a blog in a LinkedIn post that encourages people to learn more. Please transform the following blog post [paste] into a series of LinkedIn posts. For each post, provide a hook, a concise summary, and a call to action inviting readers to schedule a demo.”

Prompt 2 — Build a five-email nurture sequence

“Roleplay as a social seller for [Business Name] and draft a five-email nurture sequence for leads in the [industry]. Please focus on education and value rather than immediate selling. For each email, provide a subject line and a brief body outline with a clear next step.”

Prompt 3 — Re-engage a cold, past prospect list

“Imagine you’re using emails to re-engage leads that have gone cold. Please generate a list of five subject lines and opening hooks for a re-engagement campaign targeting past prospects who haven’t responded in six months. The goal is to remind them of the problem we solve and invite them back to the conversation.”

Prompt 4 — Spark LinkedIn comment engagement

“Please act as a sales rep who wants to engage with prospects on LinkedIn. Please develop a list of engaging questions I can ask in the comments of my LinkedIn posts to encourage interaction with [target audience].”

Prompt 5 — Turn a company announcement into social content

“Act as a proud sales rep who wants to celebrate their company’s achievements on social media. Please take this company announcement [paste] and rewrite it as an Instagram Reel script and as a Twitter/X thread. Include suggested visuals and hashtags for each platform.”

Where these prompts perform best

Remember, the prompts above are only as sharp as the trigger behind them. Real behavior, not a fixed schedule, is what turns a nurture email from a template into a conversation.

It helps you move from a generic “haven’t heard from you in a while” message that’s easy to ignore, to ones sent the moment a cold account resurfaces on your site. These read as timely rather than automated, because they are.

Lead Forensics lets you trigger a prompt like this off real behavior, such as a lapsed account revisiting your pricing page, instead of a fixed six-month clock. Start a free Lead Forensics trial to see which accounts are re-engaging with your site and give your nurture sequences a real signal to work from.
